In the news today:
According to an article published on Webmd, caffeine may help protect against Alzheimer??s Dementia. This is good news for those of us who live on coffee at work! At least we won??t get Alzheimer??s! Haha
I also talk about a notice from the FDA that they have approved the use of a new drug for atrial fibrillation.
An article published on Medline Plus reports on a study showing that wider use of statin medications may help prevent more cardiovascular problems???even if you don??t have high cholesterol. Go figure!
Also on Medline Plus, I report on an article that talks about the recent news that the FDA is looking to possible ban Tylenol from the market of reduce the number of pain management medications that have it as a substance. This because (basically) consumers do not read the labels on the containers of what they put into their bodies. Hmmmm??.protecting us from ourselves doesn??t sound like a good way to help us.
And lastly, the use of ??banana bags? may fall by the wayside. In a study reported in Emergency Medicine News, researchers found that none of the patients they studied that were acutely intoxicated had low levels of any of the ingredients in a banana bag. Looks like straight saline from now on for you guys!
And here it is???the latest edition of the Emergency Nursing Today Show! Enjoy!

Here??s the PDF file I promised from the show also.
